A Bit About Me
!Hola/Hi! Thanks for stopping by and getting to know more about me and my approach to therapy. I was born and raised on the East Coast and find myself missing the luxuries of the air-conditioned summers and life-changing Caribbean cuisine of New Jersey. Still, I call the West Coast home now, and I am reminded every day of the beauty of Seattle’s Nature and the amazing community I have cultivated here.
I am a first generation, Latine student who was raised by a single mom—much of this and my QTBIPOC community’s intersectional experiences influence my social work engagement. I am committed to myself and my people’s healing, which includes rest, authenticity, safety/security, an ever-burning sense of worth, and reconnection with our Ancestors, and ultimately, our truest selves. I believe the change we do together in therapy has a domino effect of empowerment for the world we want to create.
Beyond Interconnections, you can find me lifting weights, practicing yoga, daydreaming on Nature walks, or dancing to 2000s/EDM music with my friends. I also love creating art via painting, sketching tattoos, or writing poetry.
I view therapy as one of the purest forms of human connection. I am honored by the trust every client gives to me, and the opportunity to join them on their beautiful journeys to selves.
I also acknowledge the harm that social work and other institutes of support have particularly done to BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ folks. I, too, was once a client, still a child, seeking support and rather than feeling better, I was further harmed. Once again, this is why I hold so much gratitude for folks who return to therapy and are devoted to their healing. I will support you as best as I can while always staying true to my values and responsibility.
Lastly, therapy can only do so much. Of course, I am here to guide you, and while change occurs through mutual collaboration, you are part of that collaboration. I will meet you where you are at and support you in leading the life of your dreams! The change we do together in therapy is a microcosm of the change that occurs in our communities and beyond.
My approach to therapy centers the reality that healing takes place within the community; thus, our sessions will center our therapeutic relationship and humanness. All of my interactions are rooted in re-indigenizing/decolonizing, intersectional, mindfulness, and feminist lenses. Still, every session is as unique as you, and I am flexible in providing an environment that galvanizes and nourishes your growth. I am always open to feedback on what you need.
I integrate a variety of theories, such as talk based approaches through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, IFS Parts work, and Psychodynamics. I also incorporate healing practices through somatic therapy, and my yoga training into sessions through mindfulness tools and art exercises.
Overall, I want our space together, whether virtual or in-person, to be one where you feel empowered, valued, in control, and listened to. I want all parts of you to be celebrated during our time together.
